Coating inspections in Australia
Coating Inspectors evaluate coatings such as paints, urethanes, adhesives and zinc according to given specifications. The purpose is to ensure that parts, products and surfaces meet certain requirements and pass quality testing. The responsibilities of a coating inspector include spot-checking and recording joint surface cleanliness conditions prior to tape/sleeve applications, spot-checking and recording correct applications and overlap of wrapping tape or shrinkable sleeves, and visually checking the cleanliness of prepared surfaces by blasting and measuring the roughness before paint application. Employers prefer candidates who can show several years of related coating inspection experience on their resumes.
