What is HPC coating?

High performance coatings (HPC) products in general are essential for a broad range of markets, including transportation, buildings and infrastructure, industrial and consumer goods. Their main purpose is thus, to increase durability and improve performance of surfaces, objects and products. High performance coatings are common in everything from ships, cars, aircraft, yachts and architectural components (structural steel, building products, flooring) to consumer goods (mobile devices, appliances, beverage cans, furniture) and industrial installations such as oil and gas facilities and wind turbines on shore and off shore.

Performance coatings include all paint products which increase performance and durability of structures and surfaces in for example the automotive and marine industries. The term includes at least the following coatings:

Some HPC coatings are rather complex to apply; therefore, some cases require a professional high performance coatings applicator who most often also provides the coating. Due to this the product price is often more or less included into the price of the complete application. When looking for a suitable performance coating and professional applicator, it is often wise to ask for several quotes and compare prices.

Some hps coatings are however, meant for smaller applications and are therefore, sold in smaller volumes for consumers. These performance coatings mainly consist of vehicle refinishes and high temperature ceramic coatings for example for engines and exhausts. Also boat coatings such as topside paint and antifouling systems are available.
